My name is Carmen Barcos Montes and since 1998, after being awarded a degree in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Granada (specialization in legal and economic translation), I am professionally devoted to translation and correction.
I am a responsible and rigorous professional. I offer my clients a close collaboration based on trust and respect of the agreed terms and deadlines.
Working languages: English, French and Catalan exclusively into Spanish.
Fields of specialization: sworn translation, specialized translation (technical, legal and medical), correction (revision and quality control), layout and web creation.
Sworn/Official/Certified field: birth, death and marriage certificates; certificates of criminal records, medical certificates, adoption records, university degrees and academic records.
Technical field: patents, computing (websites localization, user manuals of computer equipment, help files) and automotive (manuals for manufacturing and advertising and marketing documentation of utility vehicles, motor homes and semi-trailers).
Legal & economic field: contracts of sale, lease, incorporation of companies, judgments, financial reports, balance sheets.
Medical field: user manuals for medical devices (magnetic resonance equipment, hematology analyzers, spectrophotometers, optometers), products recall materials, scientific articles, clinical trial protocols.
Firstly, I receive the texts for translation or correction, and carry out a thorough reading of the original, with a view to ensuring a perfect understanding. In case I have any questions, I always ask my customer for clarification so that all the terminology, specifically the most specialized, is completely clear.
I review my translated/proofread materials exhaustively before delivering them to my customer. The revision consists of making a comparison between the original and the translation so as to guarantee that no term remains untranslated and that the translation is true to the original. Also, I take into account elements such as style and orthotypographical correction.
Finally, I read through the text before delivery in order to guarantee the quality of the final document.
I maintain confidentiality and meet the stipulated deadlines.
